Fortune cookies are crispy, bite-sized treats with hidden fortunes tucked inside. While some of the fortunes are silly and some are inspirational, others make no sense at all. But regardless of the message, they are still loads of fun to eat.

While there is some debate as to who actually "invented" the sweet treat, some believe fortune cookies originated around the turn of the century in California.
