National Lollipop Day: A Holiday for Suckers

When it comes to holidays, July 20 has a little something for everyone! Not only is it Ugly Truck Day and National Fortune Cookie Day, it's also National Lollipop Day! Hooray!

Whether you lick 'em, suck 'em or bite 'em, lollipops are tasty treats enjoyed by young and old alike. The actual candy that resembles today's "suckers" probably dates back to the Middle Ages. While the actual inventor is unknown, legend has it that George Smith invented the modern-day lollipop back in 1908. He named the sugary concoction after his horse, Lolly Pop.

In honor of National Lollipop Day, why not whip up one or two delicious homemade lollipop recipes?
