While the origins of this “spirited” holiday are unknown, people have been enjoying rum for centuries. Originally used for medicinal purposes, rum was actually a particular favorite of pirates. Shiver me timbers! While the Caribbean is known for its distinct rum, rum is produced all over the world today.
