Cheers: It's National Champagne Day

Get ready to raise your glasses, America. Dec. 31 is not only New Year's Eve, it's also National Champagne Day. While the origins of this national "holiday" are unknown, nothing quite says Happy New Year like a sip or two of delicious champagne, a sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France. Although National Champagne Day is also celebrated in October and/or in August, Dec. 31 is the perfect day for a bit of bubbly.

In honor of New Year’s Eve and National Champagne Day, why not start a new tradition this year by hosting a champagne tasting party? Or get your guests into the holiday “spirit” with one or two tried-and-true champagne cocktail recipes?
