National Peanut Butter Cookie Day
If you're in the mood for a sweet treat to eat, you're in luck. Move over, Cookie Monster. June 12 (or the 13th - depending on the calendar) is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day!
Whether you prefer the creamy variety or the crunchy type, folks have been enjoying peanut butter for centuries. Americans were introduced to peanut butter at the Universal Exposition in 1904. The signature fork marks on top of the baked cookies did not begin until the early 1930s.
Did you know it takes over 500 peanuts to make a 12-ounce jar of peanut butter?
And by the way, most folks, 60 percent, prefer the creamy over chunky.
