Go Topless Day
If you need to get something off your chest, you’re in luck. A special day of the year is here and folks around the world are ready to participate. Aug. 23 is Go Topless Day, also referred to as GoTopless Day, National Go Topless Day and/or International Go Topless Day.
This non-traditional “holiday” is observed each year on the Sunday closest to Women’s Equality Day, an annual holiday that commemorates the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. Rael, the “spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement,” founded the event back in 2007. Go Topless Day shines the spotlight on inequality – specifically why women in many areas of the world are not allowed to go shirtless in public like their male counterparts?
In honor of Go Topless Day, both men and women around the globe will take part in various topless rallies, protests and marches to show their "support" for women's rights to go bare up there in public. Please visit the “BoobMap” for specific information or to locate an event near you. Please note – going topless may be a violation of local ordinances or laws.
