Day of Giving: Special ‘howliday’ helps dogs & cats across America

When it comes to special days of the year, March 31 is going to the dogs – and cats. It’s The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) Day of Giving. The event helps Pets for Life, a lifesaving program that helps animals in need and helps keep families together.

Let’s face it. Sometimes unexpected things happen in life – like a loss of a job or a serious illness. People are no longer able to care for their animals and many beloved pets end up in overcrowded shelters through no fault of their own. Sadly, many will never make it out alive. Each donation made on the Day of Giving will go toward the Pets for Life Program, which will help provide food, supplies, medications, emergency care, spay/neuter, etc for those four-legged friends. Donations are currently being accepted by visiting the website.

Each year, millions of abused, neglected, unloved and unwanted animals in shelters across the nation, wait for that special someone to adopt them. Many die waiting. Please consider opening your heart and your home to an animal in need by visiting your local shelter or Humane Society – before it’s too late. Save a life.
