International Youth Day

International Youth Day, children, kids, National Middle Child's Day

When it comes to holidays, Aug. 12 is all about the younger generation. Not only is it National Middle Child's Day, but it is also International Youth Day. International Youth Day (IYD) was created in an effort to raise awareness about the issues that face our youth globally, to recognize the contributions young people make to society, to celebrate their potential and to organize public activities and events. The world's young people, those between the ages of 15 and 24, make up one-sixth of the entire human population.

International Youth Day

Established by the United Nations, the U.N. General Assembly Resolution 54/120 declared Aug 12 as International Youth Day. Each year, a new theme is selected for the annual event. Please visit the website for an IYD activity or event near you.
