International Tongue Twister Day: 22 Tip-Top Tongue Twisters to Try Today


Peter Piper does it. And Betty Botter and Fuzzy Wuzzy do it too. If you've ever stumbled over your words or tripped over your tangled tongue, you may just want sit this one out. It's International Tongue Twister Day, an annual "holiday" observed on the second Sunday in November.

Tongue twisters are series of words or lighthearted phrases that seem simple enough - that is until you say them. The combination of the words and repetition of sounds make it nearly impossible to properly pronounce the entire phrase, especially when you repeat it over and over very quickly.
