Happy No Housework Day: Take the day off from household chores

When it comes to holidays, April 7 has got to be one of the very best days of, well, ever! It’s No Housework Day, also referred to as National No Housework Day and/or International No Housework Day! While the origins of this annual “holiday” are unknown, it doesn’t really matter who invented this special day, does it? He or she is a genius! And by the way, April 7 is also National Beer Day!

After a long hard day at “work,” who wants to go home and work some more? Just imagine being able to take the day off from those never-ending household chores. No cleaning dirty dishes, making the beds, washing piles of laundry, folding clean clothes, ironing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping allowed! What would you do with all that extra time?

How to Celebrate No Housework Day

  • What could be better than going home, putting your feet up and enjoying a movie or favorite television show with some delish popcorn and the family?

  • How about taking a nice long walk, with or without someone to walk with?

  • Take a relaxing bubble bath or a dip in the hot tub with a glass of your favorite bubbly.

  • Read a good read!

  • If you can, head to your nearest spa and ask for the works!

  • Mani/pedi anyone?

  • Go out for lunch and dinner! Let someone wait on you for a change! Don't forget dessert!

  • Why not plan a No Housework Day bash with your best BFFs?
