World Naked Gardening Day: Grab a hose & ditch your clothes on WNGD

If you enjoyed No Pants Day, you’re going to love this holiday! If you’re tired of doing the same old thing and looking for a little excitement this weekend, get ready to ditch your clothes and grab a hose! It's World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD), an international event observed annually on the first Saturday in May.

Ever since Mark Storey and Jacob Gabriel came up with the idea about 10 years ago, WNGD has continued to grow. If your garden needs a little T.L.C. after a long, cold winter, why not plant a few flowers, pull a few weeds or go outside and trim the ole’ bush in the buff? This clothing-optional celebration is the perfect time to grab the hose, fertilizer and gloves and get your green thumb on in the all-together. Gardening in the nude is not only loads of fun, but it allows us to feel closer to Mother Nature using just the barest of essentials!

So why not celebrate this tongue-in-cheek holiday by doing a little gardening wearing nothing but a smile! Just be sure not to "butt" up next to a cactus or thorny rose bush! Please note - it may be against the law to bare it all in your neck-of-the-woods. Please consult your local ordinances or laws before participating.

The first Saturday in May is also Big Brew for National Homebrew Day, the Kentucky Derby and Free Comic Book Day.
