While the origins of this food holiday are unknown, who needs an excuse to indulge in a delicious burger or two? Whether you prefer yours topped with all the trimmings, smothered in ooey gooey cheese or smokin' hot off the grill, Americans love their burgers. In fact, Americans consume more than 40 billion hamburgers annually. And National Hamburger Day is so popular, it is actually celebrated several times a year.
