Cheers! It's National Scotch Day in the U.S.A!

National Scotch Day, whiskey, whisky, Holidays, Holidailys

Just in case you didn't know - a very refreshing holiday is right around the corner and Americans are in the mood to celebrate! On the heels of National Tequila Day and National Wine and Cheese Day, it's time to celebrate another favorite spirit. July 27 is National Scotch Day, an annual beverage holiday that celebrates a popular beverage enjoyed around the world - Scotch whiskey.

Whether you spell is “whiskey” or “whisky,” scotch has been consumed for centuries and was once known for its healing properties. While whisky (or whiskey) can be made anywhere in the world, it must be produced and aged in Scotland for at least three years in order for it to be labeled Scotch.

While the origins of this holiday are unknown, one thing is for certain. Folks all over America will be raising a glass in honor of the annual occasion! Cheers!
