Geek Pride Day: 25 best nerd & geek movies of all time

May 25 is Geek Pride Day, an annual "holiday" that encourages computer geeks and word nerds all over the world to be proud and embrace their inner-geek.

Radio host, Tim McEachern, is credited as launching the first Geek Pride Day back in 1998 when he organized a festival celebrating all things-geek. The date was selected to commemorate the release of the first Star Wars movie on May 25, 1977.

While many geeks and nerds have been criticized, ostracized and teased for being different, many geeks are highly intelligent and imaginative people that went on to lead very successful lives. Can you imagine what our lives would be like without the likes of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Stephen King, Steve Wozniak and Bill Nye the Science Guy?

According to a 2012 survey, more than half of respondents consider geeks to be "extremely intelligent." And when 71 percent have a tech issue that needs to be addressed, who do they turn to for help? Why geeks, of course! And the times really are a-changing! 68 percent of folks surveyed would date a geek!

In honor of Geek Pride Day, why not watch one or two of the nerdiest, geekiest flicks of all time?
