It's No Dirty Dishes Day: Will you or won't you do the dirty?
It’s time to celebrate! May 18 could possibly be one of the best days of the year, depending on how you look at it. It’s No Dirty Dishes Day, also referred to as National No Dirty Dishes Day.
Let’s face it. In today’s hectic world, many people are overworked, under-paid and just plain stressed out! Who has the time or energy to tackle one of the least favorite household chores in the world – those never ending, dirty dishes!
While the origins of this annual holiday are unknown, whoever came up with this holiday should be nominated for an award, get a raise and get a great big star on the walk of fame!
Observed every year on May 18th, No Dirty Dishes Day can be celebrated in one of two ways:
Option #1 - You could wash, dry and put away every single dish, bowl, glass, utensil and pot and pan in the sink, dishwasher, family room, bedrooms, on the table and counters in order to have no dirty dishes in sight and a spotless kitchen.
Option #2 - You can choose to avoid doing the dishes altogether and take the day off! Put the dish gloves and pot scrubbers away, pop open the bubbly and relax. The dishes can always wait until tomorrow!
So what will it be? How do you plan on celebrating No Dirty Dishes Day? Is it time to sit back and relax or "do the dirty?"
