National Apple Pie Day

Besides National Leprechaun Day and Frog Jumping Day, May 13 also celebrates an iconic American dessert – it’s National Apple Pie Day. Nothing quite says Americana like baseball, burgers, mom and a great big slice of apple pie, right?

While apple pie is synonymous with American dessert, the first apple pie recipe was actually printed in England way back in the 1300s. And to confuse matters even more, apple harvests usually occur in the fall! Although the origins of this annual food holiday are unknown, National Apple Pie Day provides the perfect excuse to indulge in one or two of amazing apple pie slices in honor of the event?
