National Boyfriend Day: Celebrate that special man in your life

If you’re a fan of this column, you know we celebrate all sorts of holidays. From traditional and non-traditional, to downright wild and wacky, holidays are all the rage these days and Oct. 3 is no exception! While the origins are unknown, today celebrates that special fella in your life. Hip hip hooray - it’s National Boyfriend Day in the U.S.A.

Whether you’ve known him for a few months or most of your life, it’s time to pull out all the stops and pamper Mr. Right right now! Just in case you are stumped, here are a few ideas to get you started:

• Invite Mr. Right to Movie Night Tonight: Pick up a few of his favorite flicks, whip up some snacks along with his favorite beverages, and it’s lights, camera, action time in the comfort of your own home.

• Road Trip Time: Surprise him by taking a nice little road trip today. Of course, the destination is his choice.

• Speaking of Cars: Wash, wax and detail his favorite ride today.

• Romantic Dinner: Bring on the wine and make him his favorite meal tonight in honor of the occasion.

• Play Ball: Encourage him to invite a few of his buddies over for game time in the man cave. Put out some chips, dips and beer and they are good to go. (Of course this means you can hang out with a few of your favorite BFFs!)

And by the way. National Girlfriends Day is in August. Just sayin'!
