National Cappuccino Day buzz: Enjoy a Cuppa Cappuccino
Have you heard the latest “buzz?” If you need a little pick-me-up to jump-start your day, you're in luck! A very special day of the year is finally here and Americans are in the mood to celebrate! Get ready to raise your mugs, folks. Today is National Cappuccino Day in the U.S.A!
This annual beverage holiday celebrates the delicious coffee drink traditionally made with equal parts of espresso, warm milk and steamed milk foam. Created centuries ago in Italy, cappuccinos were named after an order of Franciscan monks, the Catholic Capuchins, who wore robes and hoods that resembled the drink’s shape and color. Today, cappuccinos are popular drinks enjoyed around the world. While the Italians typically enjoy a 4-ounce cappuccino and never after 11 a.m., the American version is typically served in a bigger, 10-ounce glass.
Whether you are a connoisseur or have never tried one, here’s your chance. After all, nothing quite hits the spot on a brisk morning (or evening), like a delicious cuppa cappuccino, eh? Happy National Cappuccino Day!
Nov. 8 is also National Dunce Day.
