National Lasagna Day

Have you heard the big foodie news? One of the most delicious days of the entire year is right around the corner and Americans are ready to celebrate! If layers of pasta smothered in a rich tomato sauce and topped with ooey gooey cheese sounds good to you right about now, go grab your fork! July 29 is National Lasagna Day, an annual food holiday dedicated to the immensely popular pasta dish.

Whether you spell it "lasagne" or "lasagna," lasagna is a long pasta noodle and a baked pasta dish. The Italian entree is typically comprised of layers and layers of flat lasagna noodles, meat and/or vegetable fillings, a variety of cheeses and smothered in a zesty tomato or rich white sauce baked until golden brown.

In honor of National Lasagna Day, some restaurants across America will be offering special meal deals on one of America's most favorite Italian dishes. Magnifico!
