While not much is known about its origins, October 16 is National Liqueur Day. Sometimes referred to as cordials or spirits, liqueur is a delightful concoction of alcohol infused with fruits, flowers, nuts, herbs or spices.

Chocolate Liqueur Recipe – You’ll need sugar, water, brandy, vodka, caramel food coloring and concentrated chocolate extract.
Amaretto Coffee Liqueur – Ingredients include Colombian coffee, sugar, water, 80-proof vodka, brandy and almond flavored oil.
Peppermint Schnapps Liqueur – This refreshing drink calls for just three ingredients – peppermint extract, vodka and sugar syrup.
Rhubarb Wine – Why not transform that leftover rhubarb from the garden into a delicious drink? You’ll need 3 pounds of rhubarb, sugar, black tea and general purpose wine yeast.
