National Lost Sock Memorial Day: Remembering the long lost, 'holey soles'
May 9 shines the spotlight on one of the world’s most perplexing mysteries! In fact, it ranks right up there with the Bermuda Triangle, the Roswell Incident and Stonehenge!
On the “heels” of No Socks Day, today is National Lost Sock Memorial Day! While the origins of this annual “holiday” are unknown, whether we wear them for warmth, comfort, as part of our school or business attire or just for fun, socks are part of our everyday lives and get little respect.
How many times have you taken a load of laundry out of the dryer only to discover several of your favorite socks are nowhere to be found? How can a perfectly good pair of socks go into the dryer but only one single sock makes it out alive?
In honor of National Lost Sock Memorial Day, why not take a moment out of your busy day to hold a special moment of silence or candlelight vigil in honor of those dearly departed, "holey souls?" Today is also the perfect time to look through those overcrowded closets and jam-packed drawers in search of those missing and mismatched socks.
