National Martini Day

Have you heard the latest “buzz”? A very refreshing beverage holiday that celebrates one of America’s most well-known and classic cocktails is almost here. Get ready to raise your glass, folks. Whether you prefer yours shaken or stirred, straight up or over ice, it’s National Martini Day, also known as World Martini Day.

While the origins of this holiday are unknown, National Martini Day is celebrated annually on June 19. Traditionally made with gin and vermouth and garnished with an olive or lemon twist, H.L Mencken referred to this beloved cocktail as “the only American invention as perfect as the sonnet.” And George Burns said, "Happiness is a dry martini and a good woman...or a bad woman."

Famous folks like Sir Winston Churchill, Hollywood actors Cary Grant, Marlene Dietrich, Humphrey Bogart and James Bond loved them! In honor of National Martini Day, why not celebrate with one or two martini cocktails.
