Attention pasta lovers. If you love spaghetti, and who doesn’t, go grab your biggest fork. One of the most delicious food holidays in the entire year is finally here. Hip hip hooray - Jan. 4 is National Spaghetti Day in the U.S.A!
While the origins of this annual occasion are unknown, National Spaghetti Day is dedicated to the long and thin noodle comprised of semolina and water. Folks have been enjoying pasta for centuries. Whether you buy it in a box, in the refrigerated aisle at your local grocery store or make it from scratch, Americans love their pasta! More than 1 million pounds of spaghetti were sold in America’s grocery stores back in 2000.
Whether you prefer yours drenched in a spicy marinara sauce, loaded with meatballs or topped with tasty cheese, today is the perfect day to feel a little saucy and experiment with a few tried-and-true or brand new sauces and pasta recipes.
