Video Game Day


Do you want to play a game? Get ready to hold onto your joystick, ladies and gents. July 8 is Video Game Day also referred to as Video Games Day. Not to be confused with National Video Games Day or International Games Day, this annual “holiday” celebrates video games and the folks who love to play them.

After a hard day at work or school, video games provide a much needed respite from our busy and stress-filled lives. From thrill-seeking adventures, sports and who-done-it mysteries, to new ways to learn and exciting ways to exercise, video games are popular forms of entertainment that aren’t just for kids anymore. Entering the world of make-believe has never been more fun and exciting.

Whether you play to pass the time, as a profession or just for fun, video games have sure come a long way in a relatively short period of time. It seems like only yesterday, we were addicted to Space Invaders, Pacman and Asteroids.

With the rapid advancements in technology, one can only wonder what new gadget, game or super cool product is on the horizon. In honor of Video Game Day, invite your friends over and get your game on!
